SORRY WRONG FORUM  SO RELISTED ON TECHNICAL>>>NEWBIE NOT QUITE FAMILIAR WITH HOW IT WORKS

Hi all Im assuming this has been done many times so apologise in advance if this is a yawn.

I'm looking to be able to lock up and leave my SWB 2003 Mk3 which still has the painful nuisance of a standard Cobra alarm as fitted by the UK importers. I have no use for the alarm so not bothered whether it is working or not .

Any issues with simply fitting a Battery Isolator switch to turn the whole truck off and lock on the key? This means I can come back , unlock on the key, switch on the isolator and hopefully start as normal .

I guess I'm trying to understand whether the battery loss will mean the alarm or ECU will simply just resume or i'll hit reprogramming issues.

Any insider info appreciated from someone who'd done it ??
