I'm Blake and from Aberdeenshire
Picked up a Pajero 1995 2.8TD LWB manual limited edition today, on the test drive everything seemed fine there was mention of the rev counter not working some times.
On the way home the speedo stopped working or would go all over the shop and the rev counter would work fine or not work at all (gearbox speed sensor/ dodgy wire?)
Also the central locking went a bit mad while driving with opening and closing itself quite a few times any ideas bad ground maybe?
If anyone has any ideas let me know cheers.

Other than that seems mechanically sound. It needs a general tidy up, powder coat the bull bar black wire up some spots or lightbar

Hi and welcome
There's lots of info on here about dodgy speedos and rev counters. I'd suggest that you have a search using the box in the top left corner.

Some Pajeros have speed converters, so it may be worth pulling the instrument panel out and having a look for loose wires. If there is a converter, I guess you could disconnect it and see if that makes a difference to the steadiness of the output.

I think the rev counter is driven from a sender on the fuel pump, so have a look for poor connections/broken wiring etc.

Good luck. With a little patience and a lot of perseverence I am sure you will find and fix it.   Have you got a workshop manual? They are invaluable.
