well i now have a 3ltr shogun lwb and i have replaced the rad, thermostate, heater matrix (horrible job),water pump and belt, and i still have no heat in car,all flaps moving as they should, matrix feels warm not overly hot mined, but nothing, taken dash out twice now not doing that again, could there be air in system still, rear heater is cold but think that is a blockage in the pipes, but front heater is the one i really need, gonna fit a bleed valve tomorrow into passenger side matrix pipe and see if that helps otherwise i dont know

Have you tried filling the matrix by disconnecting the heater hoses and pouring coolant into one of them until it comes out of the other one?

yep tried that, the matrix is getting warm but not hot as i would of thought,i guess it should be as hot as rad at least, just contemplating fitting a t piece with a bleed screw top into matrix pipe to see if i have a stuben airlock, was an epic job replaceing that matrix with a brand new one

I would have thought the car would have been overheating if the pump wasn't turning.

hydraulic tensioners are quite a problem on the v6 engines i fitted 3 different ones in less than a few months as they just don,t seem as good as the originals,my 24 valve now runs with one from a kia sedona on it,plus the gap on it has to be pretty bang on so if it does fail the engine will run fine including turning the pump, but you will get a tapping noise as though a tappet is off Wink
