Hi

You could always buy one of these,  eBay number 172407514033,  £29.99 same as Aussie Tony's SPV mod but British company

I've txt them and after sending pics of my air box and engine was told it would work on my diesel 3.2

Hope this helps

That's the one I linked to 3 posts ago, they have confirmed it is a resistive device.

If buying a resistor I would suggest a slightly higher wattage one which will be more mechanically robust.

This one more like it then? Bloody expensive in comparison though. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/wirewound-10-watt-47k-ohm-resistor-h4k7

That one is a bit OTT, the 2w one should be fine @ 19p.

so i have had my resistors for about 8 months and still not got round to doing this but i need to do some major engine cleaning this year so it will get dont then.

what it does is tricks the EGR in to thinking its too cold to operate, so keeps it off so even if they plug a computer in it will not show as a fault as its working fine just thinks its 10@c colder than it is.

will get this done

My experience has gone the other way really. Not much to do on the mk4, compared to the mk2 I had. Just doing essential maintenance i.e. servicing on this one, and the occasional mod that will be beneficial like the egr trick. I fancy getting hold of an old bike just to satisfy the need to tinker with something  Laughing

Passed mine 22 years ago, before there were all these new hoops to jump through. Out for a ride with an examiner following, a few questions back at the test centre, congratulations you can ride anything now  Shocked

Having something to tinker with is an excuse just to get a bike really but i'm selling the idea to swmbo so that it keeps me out of her way  Laughing
