Hi Guys
Great to see your club. I've always joined an owners club for other Jap cars we've had ie my VR4 and my wife's MX-3. I bought a big twin axle caravan last year and it needed a good towing vehicle but I didn't want to spend much. I found this '99 Challenger in Truro and it seems really good. It came with a 12 month MOT and the body is straight and the machanicals are all fine. Paid £1100 for it which might be a bit pricey but it's good so didn't mind too much. There are a couple of things that it needs like a rear wiper arm and fog lights, but that's about it - Oh and the n/s side step has rusted out on 2 of the 3 brackets. If anyone has any of these items, I'd be interested in having a chat.
Talk again soon. |

Welcome to the club - as just said, seems a reasonable price. |

You need to have been on here for about a week and done about 10 posts before the forum will let you post photos - it's an anti spam measure.
There is a guide HERE explaining how to post photos. |

OK thanks for the info. I don't have a handbook for it. Can you tell me if the V60/V70 (Mk4) handbook will suit please? |

Hi and welcome from another Challenger owner.
I think the Mitsubishi V60 and V70 Series are Mk3 Pajero/Shoguns and they are very different vehicles to the Challenger, so the handbook won't be relevant. Is yours a UK supplied vehicle or an import from Japan? Engine capacity? Transmission type? |

There are a few Shogun Sport owner's handbooks on Ebay for 2000 models onwards. AFAIK the differences between the '99 and '00 models were largely cosmetic and a re-badge.
The owner's handbooks don't really contain much useful information. Maybe better and cheaper to ask on here what you need to know. There's a dedicated section in the forum for Challengers/Sport versions, although most major components are shared with the earlier Pajero/Shoguns.
One thing that you do need to be aware of is that the UK Challenger/Shogun Sport doesn't have a centre differential. So the 4WD drive system is part time only and not to be used on hard surfaces. 4WD is for soft surfaces only that will allow a little wheel slip. |
