|

Just fitted a Bluespark module. What a difference! The reason I went for one was the initial go seemed really sluggish to other diesels I've driven in the past. Now not only is there instant power it just keeps on giving much higher in rev range. Will be interesting to see if any difference to the mpg. I can see why it could use less as you don't need to push the accelerater far or rev as high to really get some speed up. To be honest I wouldn't mind if it used more fuel, its worth it for the extra performance. Engine seems less strained and smoother.
So easy to fit, it really does take all of 5 minutes. Not played with the settings yet and just left it on the default of high torque. |

It does show for a 3.2 Di-D on the site. It doesn't however show for a 3.2 Di-Dc aka mk4?? |

Yep he does. So the one listed on the site should fit yours and maybe the same module works on mk4's too? |

Yes, mines a MK4 and works perfectly. They did ring me when they received the order to make sure it was a MK4 as they had known some 2007 registered MK3's. |

Sounds interesting!
Will you post up your findings with it as time goes on? I'd be very interested to know how you get on with it.
cheers Paul. |

Me too. Seems a good price in comparison to others so interested in the results. |

Yes, I'll keep you all updated. So far on the default setting it definitely feels quicker and smoother. Going to keep it at that setting (although I'm dying to try a higher setting) for this tank of fuel. Last two tanks got 400 & 430 miles. |

Well got around the same at 420 miles but it's a bit skewed as I fitted the EGR resistor mod half way through and used the extra power quite a few times
Still really smooth and less revs required to make good progress. Going to try to go for economy on this tank full and leave the Bluespark at the factory setting. Next tank I'm upping the power to see how much it hits the economy. |

Been playing around with the other maps over the last few weeks. The default map C (out of A-E) is the best all rounder as in it has a flat torque curve from 0-4k rpm. The mpg seemed the same but lots more power. Tried maps D & E which produce even more power and torque above 2.5k revs but less below. This leads to ultimately more power but as its higher in the rev range its not a pleasant way in the Shogun (just to loud and unrefined) but in most other cars I can see it working ok. Don't know about the mpg as didn't keep it on those settings for long. Then tried map B. This gives more power than C below 2.5k but then soon tails off afterwards. I actually quite like this one and will stick with it to test the mpg. Really torquey at low revs and even just up to 2.5k will give you easily over 70mph. Its actually getting better day by day as I'm assuming the gearbox is learning and changing up sooner to the new driving style. I'll update on the mpg once I've done a couple of tank fulls. |
