My ac is not working as it should the first thing that i did was checking the electricals and i diagnosed the condensor fan was not working which i replaced and it worked. Than still it works but is not that cool as it was years ago so i started to check if it is low on charge and it was.  So i started to add refrigerant and the compressor started to cycle on and off frequently on low pressure 22-25 psi. Than still it was not that cold than i added a little bit more and the high pressure started to go up like crazy 350psi and over but the low side still maybe 25 psi most than it cycles off and on.

What's happening is very strange.
Does anyone have any idea?

I used 134a to top up my pajero is a mk2 1997. The low pressure has the quick connect on the compressor  and the high side is located on the dryer in the front both have grey caps with h and l written.

Is it possible that the rerigerant is not the correct one. My friend works on ac's and told me if it's a different refrigerant the connectors wont fit.

I believe 134a is used in all vehicle air-con systems, post 92 onward's, before that it was R12 which is now never used. So I think you are useing the correct stuff, only thing I would do is take it to someone who does proper air-con re gassing, they will evacuate the system and test for any leaks under pressure, then re-fill the system safely and accordingly.

If you over pressurise the system with the wrong amount of gas, you can seriously damage the components especially the compressor.

If seriously dubt its overcharged since low pressure side is never higher than 30 psi with the compresso engaged.

My ac cools after the work done.  but still i don't know if the frequent cycling on and off is normal.if someone there maybe knows how his works and give me a feedback i would have more piece of mind that everything is just fine .since i'm new to car air. conditioners and r134a seems to work at different pressures on a car ac than of a home refrigerator.
