hiya all, i had the same probs with the kickdown on my 2.8 mk2 pajero, itried adjusting the cable to no avail, then i tried the throttle position sensor which is on the right hand ride of the injection pump as you look at the vehicle from the front, i tried mitsubishi for one but was told you cant buy it seperate it comes with the pump, , so got sensor from a breaker stuck it on and i now have a working kickdown, i will post a pic of the sensor its realy easy to change,

im new to this forum and ive tried posting the pic several times but no joy, so il try to talk you thru itturn the throttle linkage on the pump by hand and you will notice there is a square flag which on full throttle presses a little switch that looks like a condenser that you get in a distributor of a petrol car it has a rubber belloiws covering the sensor /switch, and the back end of it has a single wire sticking out  . its held on to the pump by twosmall screws, not counting the wire its only about 40mm long and 10mm in diameter, the place i got it from sent it to me free of charge,  ,  hope that helps you all.

Hi all..I've got kick down problems as well with my mk2 2.8 Pajero exceed lwb . I've even gone to the point of disconnecting my kick down cable and it still kicks down a gear on a slight movement of the pedal.. I would have thought disconnecting the kick down cable would stop it. It's starting to give me the hump.. I was woundering if it could be the throttle position sensor... as someone else had similar problems..
