Hi all,

The EVO I recently bought has had a huge problem. I found that it had an alternator problem where it produced 35 volts and burned the wiring and the engine ecu.
Because it happened in Mozambique and the guys here prefer to mend the problems rather than fixing them, the owner installed an aftermarket programmable ecu, made in South Africa.
The problem is that this ecu does not work properly, it does not operate the MIVEC, so the engine is poor on power. Also the mapping installed is weak. I tried to power up the MIVEC but it felt that it had no fuel to perform properly.
Also because it is not setup properly, the auto gearbox does not operate correctly, it only works in sequential mode. I found that it does not have RPM signal from the engine ecu.

Before trying to source a new ecu, anybody knows anybody that might have this ecu for sale? If it helps, the original part number is MD343991.

Cheers,

José

If you can't find one I have had a lot of success from this site. http://mitsubishi.epc-data.com/pajero/v55w/

you can look through click the part and it takes you to amayama who stock OEM parts for most everything japanese. I have used them for my Evo1 and Pajevo and never once had an issue. I live in Canada so not many places to go.

Mitsubishi doesn't say (yet) that the part is cancelled, so this will be my last resort, buying a new one.

As I work in Mitsubishi, I can get them with some benefits. Still about 800 $.
