There are two blanking plates on each pillar that presumably take grab handles to ease getting in out out - for oldies! Are the handles available does anyone know and are they an easy fit? Only looking to do nearside for my dear old Mum! Cheers.

Yeah there nice and easy to fit..... just fitted one for myself. Very Happy

Once you take out the clips there should 2 screw holes, the new handle should have the 2 screws
and 2 plastic spacers with them...

fit the screw through the handle through the spacer and into the the hole provided.

Dont know where you can buy them new... you could try ebay, or a scrapyard.

hang on dont mess with air bags or put obstructions in there path.  Get the airbag disabled if you realy want to put the handle there.

The force that an airbag goes off with combined with a lump of plastic and some screws will injure someone

Hi

I fitted handles there, mitsi dont make them for this model, but A pillar grab handles from a Mitsubishi Delica are an exact fit,

and as far as I know so are the ones from a Shogun Pinin,

when you take the trim off, it just pulls away from frame top first,

behind it bolted onto the A pillar is the bracket that the screws go into, but they are not threaded,

you need those special washers that are threaded, cant remember what they are called,

but they are screwed into the bracket hole with 2 spanners, and leave a threaded nut in the hole,

fit the bracket back to the A pillar refit the trim bottom slots in first then use the scews that came with the handles,

mind and ask for them aswell, fit the little blanking plates that cover the screw heads and the jobs a good one,

not sure about the air bag being a problem as the latest Shogun has grab handles fitted in the same place as standard,

hope this helps.
