|
|
Ive heard 15" wheels rub on the calipers of a shogun sport so would 50mm spacers help this as the car is having a 3" body lift 2" suspension lift and ive bought a set of 35" tyres on 15" deep dish wheels so id like it wider too but guessing the wheel bearings will be upset as a bye product?
I cant seem to upload pics from my phone or id put all the progress pics on for anybody else looking to do this as i could find much info |

50mm is a lot - there will a lot of leverage, The wheel bearings will probably be OK but the top and bottom ball joints will be stressed quite a bit. |

With deep dish wheels, you're already adding offset. Then you'd be adding more with 50mm spacers. I think it would be unwise. Also the tyres would be protruding well past the wheel arches, so you'd need to extend those as well in order to comply with the law if you are going on the road with it.
I'd really like to see your photos. You can't upload them directly to the forum, so you need to use a photo-sharing service and embed a link into your post. |

Im expecting to have a considerable flare on the arches so thats ok and i understand it might not be everybodys cup of tea and its not even my second car so it will do probably 200 miles a year if that ive just always wanted an over the top 4x4 so i think i might go for them and see what happens.its currently still at the garage and i dont get back from my holiday untill mid next week so wen i collect it il post some pics up of wheee im at with it. 😁 |

If that's what you want, I'm glad you're going to go for it It will certainly look dramatic! I look forward to seeing the pics. |

The Sport / Challenger was originally supplied with 15" wheels, so they should be fine. Mine is on 15" wheels. |

Good idea. Too much width puts great strain on the steering linkages too!
