Afternoon guys,

Just looking for a bit of knowledge if you can, Just picked up a 3.2 2007 mk4 model, Diamond spec.

Had it a few weeks and great motor, Just checking the forum and i'm a little worried its the dreaded engine with fuel pump problems, The motor is booking at 160BHP DID engine, Which i'm sure is the one with pump problems from the mk3?

How do I check for sure?

Cheers,

Wullie.

Note to self, check under hood before posting!

Engine cover is marked up as a common rail!

These pumps wear prematurely because of muck and water in the fuel and this enters the tank by the breather pipes and filler pipe corroding, the corroded pipe gets into the tank and water enters the holes and fills the tank.

Look under the offside rear wheel arch and they are covered by a plastic cover, remove this and examine them and grease them with liberal amounts of grease annually.
