Hope this of help to someone

As I posted in another thread (def not the one about me being ham fisted with wind deflectors) one of my rear adjustable shocks had snapped, which also points to the Ropey handling of late.

So money being tight and not really needing the adjustable feature I went ahead and changed them for normal ones.

Easy as pie to change in the end

I jacked the rear of truck up and removed the rear wheels and placed her on axle stands

Next I undone the bottom nut and bolt. 24mm socket and spanner on the other side of it due to clearance. Bottom bolts are mega *beep* tight and rusty as poo so leverage is the key. Used a really long spanner while holding the ratchet still to get it moving.

Once these were off I moved onto the top. 2 x 10mm bolts hold the motor on. Then a 17mm socket to undo the first top nut to be able to remove the motor seat/holder thingy. Then another 17mm nut and a smack with a mallet and it will drop out.

Zip tied the motors up out of the way and installation is reverse of the above if pitting new adjustable in. If putting normal ones in there is a bush and cup that sits each side of the top bracket and 2 x 15mm nuts to hold it in place one on top of each other.

Total time 1.5 hrs and sorry no pics but it was 2 degrees c and peeing it down this morning.

Took her for a spin and is no longer a hedge seeking missile.

All the best

Did you save the little circular rubber dust seals that go between the motor and the top of the shock? - just in case you go back to adjustables in the future.

I couldn't find anyone who supplied them.

I only mentioned it because mine fell out the first time I removed my shocks and I only noticed because I found one stuck to the motor.

Had to search scrap yards for ages before I got some replacements.
