Geodrome had his pump rebuilt at Airylea Motors in Aberdeen a few years ago.

Have a read HERE - it eventually cost Geodrome £1800 - and that was five years ago.

1999 2.8 TDI
I had the problem of cutting out after startup when cold.
I put a $20 electric fuel pump in line before the filter.
When I start up in the cold switch this pump on & turn it off again after engine has warmed up.
no problems for the last month & left the pump on while driving for an hour & checked sump oil level, To make sure fuel was not making its way into sump.
All good so far will report back in a few months.

That is known as a "bodge job" over here.

Give it time for the front seal to wear a bit more. As long as you have that electric pump on you will have to check the engine oil level every day.

Have a read of THIS

i would imagine your insurance could be effected by the bodge pump fit too, as it has no safety cut off if you crashed and fractured a fuel line.

It's only a mater of time before you fill your sump with diesel... its the natural pretension of things without an online electric pump so with one it'll just happen sooner.

I have a 93 2.8 diesel pajero and I'm having the same problem, i have changed the fuel lift pump and the filter but it still keeps cutting out so by the replies on here mine is a problem with the seals. Does anyone know of anyone in the Staffordshire area that can do this please as I've tried my local garages and none say they can do it
