Rear heater cold, help

Can not get hot air out of the rear heater. Help. ..is this a common problem ?

Mine is the same. The pipes that run to feed the rear heater are at the lowest point in the system so I think get clogged up with gunk stopping the water flow. A good flushing should sort it, but I haven't tackled it on a mk 4  yet so can't advise on that. I'm waiting till summer to do mine.

Best way is to drop all of the coolant, remove one of the rear heater pipes and drain that out also, then remove the other heater pipe and flush it through and watch what comes out of it as this will also flush out the rear heater matrix.
