I have just bought a 2.8 1996 Pajero and the ERG Valve has been totally removed. My question is do I leave it as is or do I fit a new ERG and what would be the advantages if everthing were to be replaced ERG and pipe to manifold.
Running fine at the moment.

Hello
If it is running ok I would not replace it. I went through a load of trouble and expense to get the egr working on mine. In the end I removed it and now it runs like a dream.

I am not sure if you got the electric injector pump, if you have it may be a different arrangement than mine. But if you need to replace the vacuum controllers they were about  £80. and that was a few years ago.

You may also find that the fuel pump has been tinkered with as it was general advice on here to adjust the pump if you remove the egr. So you just might have to get that re-calibrated if you replace the lot.

Hi all, I have just replaced the EGR valve on my 2008 SWB 3.2DiD shogun, the EGR valve flat code was coming up, as a result of that issue the DPF filter had blocked.  As the DPF light has come on and off for the last 12 months, I decided to change the log and get it all sorted. as a result of both issues, the car had gone into limp mode.

Both EGR and DPF have been replaced, the flat codes have been cleared (with no new codes appearing) however it is still in limp mode.. what do I need to do next??

Thanks in advance..

Rasco..

Under the new mot rules as of 20th may egr valves now have to be in place. Blank it off but keep in place.

BTW, and for anyone following along, it's not an ERG Valve, it's an EGR Valve, (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)

ERG is the sound you make when you see the state of the insides of some of them!  Wink
