Hi all been doing lots of reading on here about the veg oil..
kind of interested to try it, just seems very strange going to the supermarket and buying it and putting it in the car..
Anyways.. i also have another option.. down the road from me is this place
http://www.edibleoildirect.co.uk/contact/
they sell Bio diesel out of the pump.
is this ok for the paj, they have two different ratings.. not sure what the difference will be..
with bio diesel will i need to pay extra tax anywhere or as its from a company it will already be on their price..
last question. would i need to mix it with normal diesel? i don't want to damage the pajero. it had new pump seals last year.
will it tow ok on bio diesel?
I tried searching on here but only found about the going to shop and buying veg oil
thanks
Pete |

Vijay is correct. No forms needed. But you do need to keep a record of usage. I keep all my receipts and a record of the quantity I put in the tank, the date, and the odometer reading.
I've been running my 2.8 on vegetable oil mix for about four years. Initially it caused the fuel pump seals to leak, so the pump was taken off and refurbished by Diesel Bob. He put special seals in and it's been perfect since. Apart from that it's been absolutely perfect. I've been using 50/50 veg diesel in the winter and 90/10 veg petrol in the summer, but have recently learned (thank you Joel90) that my summer mix has a lower gelling point than my winter one. So I may save myself some more money and carry on with 90/10 all year round.
I add cetane booster to both mixes.
Your supplier sells 20L containers of fresh oil, so it would be worth getting prices. Or joining a cash & carry if there's one local to you. Supermarkets aren't generally the best source for oil as fuel. |

I cant see what engine type you have but assuming a 2.8 (and quite possibly the same for a 2.5) the front seal dont like bio, they will need changing within two years when running bio BUT veg oil they dont mind at all....
If you go bio you can get bio compatible front seals (i have them and fit them now and then) |

Diesel Bob charged me £245 for the rebuild with heavy duty seals. £12 for delivery. Both net of VAT. |

It was the timing cover seals that failed on my pump. This was within a few weeks of running a 50/50 veg/diesel mix. |

Timing cylinder cover O rings???
If so these are a common leak point that I attend to quite often with customer running plain old pump diesel.... chances are yours was on the way anyway |
