|
|
Hi All.. Time to pick the forum's brain.
My Evo has just lost all its power. She's an auto, 97k on the clock, Starts, ticks over and drives all ok, but has no power. No engine management light on.
Ive changed fuel filter, air filter and pulled the inside of the cat apart and its made no difference.
Any ideas on where to turn next?
Thanks |

She revs fine and the mivec kicks in at 6000 but has just got no guts.
The cam belt's due for a change so ill pull the front off and see if the timings slipped there. Its just like there's a massive restriction in the exhaust but its clear as far as i can tell apart from pulling the complete system off and trying it. |

Did you fix this ?
I had something similar with my EVO and during the course of a cambelt change I noticed a vacume actuator had a broken arm. The arm controls the secondary ports in the middle runner of the intake plenum. I welded mine up with the use of a washer cut in half bracing each side of the arm. Feels alot better now, something to check tho ????
The vacume actuator is under the plastic shroud that covers the motor. If you look towards the front center of the motor locating a linkage arm connected the actuator, around the intake system. |

I'm having the same problem. After months of trying to convince myself that my Pajero LWB is NOT faster than my Evo I'm not accepting the fact that something is wrong with the Evo. The engine seems perfect. Good fuel and spark, no smoke, no lights.. just sort of gutless. I'll check back in. |
