Hi,

Wondering if any can help me locating the location of the power cable supply socket plugs into in the car wiring loom?

Does anyone have a Shogun Mk3 with the original Mitsubishi Sat Nav system with the MP8000 navigation DVD unit that fits on a metal plate under the passengers glove boxes? Would you consider tracing the power cable or allowing me to have a look?

The Nav DVD unit has two main cables the power cable which has 6 wires and a black cable with black connectors that plugs between it's self and the switch box with is on the same metal plate.

The power cable has 6 wires which are the following colours pink, green, red, orange, yellow and black. I believe red is switched power, yellow is constant power and black is earth. Don't know what the other colours are so any help on identifying these would be appreciated. Hunted internet but can't find a wiring diagram for the MP8000.

Appreciate an odd request but I posted a query on it last week but haven't had any replies to date. I live approximately 10 minutes from Bakewell near Calver/Baslow.

Thank you for your time.

David

Hi,

I've managed to solve the location of the power supply for the MP8000 DVD navigation unit. The Nav units were fitted in two places depending on seat option chosen apparently which are under the glove boxes on a metal plate in the passenger foot well or under the passenger seat. However the power supply was only in one location which was under the passenger seat. You can't see it if you look under the seat though as it's under the carpet.

You have to remove the passenger seat disconnecting the air bag power cable before lifting the seat out. Remove the plastic door sill trim. Lift the carpet and you find the plug taped to the wiring loom near the air bag cable. You can remove the plastic cable covers and run the cable from the DVD unit location in the foot well to the power plug. Then put everything back.

I hope that this helps anyone trying to do the same with their Shogun....

Regards
