Hi all

Been to see a 2006 Shogun elegance today. It has (i think) the sat nav screen. The seller seems to think the sat nav screen has buttons on it.

Information about the radio, heater controls and mileage stuff all display, but when "NAVI" is selected, there is just a black screen.

Now i've looked on the forum, and it seems to indicate a fuse, but this also suggests the screen wouldn't work at all.

Any thoughts? I've read the system may not be a great one, but if its there, it might as well be working.

There are also two remote controls in the center storage. and a thin box that looks like the sort of thing a stereo front would go in. One might be the one that controls the screen and the other one looks like a DVD controller. There are no screens in the headrests though.

There should be a remote control that works on infra red so you should have a little black receiver too about 1x2cm. Without the remote you can do anything with the sat nav as there are no other controls for it.
The power on button is on the remote (the with a joystick). The other remote thing will be the clip in security panel for the radio. It’s all old school.

The sat nav isn’t brilliant and a bit slow compared to even cheap sat nav from Halfords. There is post code search but not the full post code so you will have to scroll through to the correct street then number.

Thanks, I tried to play with the remote, but it didnt affect the black screen. There is a small black cube on the dash, just next to the radio.

Any thoughts on the black screen? Fuse?

Chris

Did you press the ON button on the remote, bottom left corner from memory. Check the batteries in the remote too.

The remote needs to be pointed at the receiver too. Like I’d said it’s old school
