Hi Guys

Thanks for letting me join. I've just bought a '03 Mk3 Shogun 3.2 D-ID Field which is superb except two niggles......The fuel gauge is intermittent regardless of whether full, half-empty or otherwise? The other and far more annoying issue, is that the Rev counter doesn't work. I've tried the usual 'tap the dash' trick but no difference. I'm reasonably handy so thought I would look at this myself; research suggests that there might be a sensor or broken wiring but I could do with an 'idiot' guide to locating these please.

Looking forward to many miles in my new Shogun. Cheers

Kevin

Hi
Not had this on a Mk3, yet, but on the Mk1 and 2 diesel models, the rev counter is triggered by the W terminal on the alternator.
Usually the rev counter not working is the first clue that the alt has packed up.
However, I have seen it happen that the wiring fails, right beside the alt, where the wire meets the connector.
Hope that helps somebody...
