Hi All,
What is the current thinking on fuel additive?
I currently have been using Archoil AR6900-D Max, but have just run out.
Any better additives out there now? |

Nope, not as far as I am concerned.
I am just about to order some more.
It is cheap, it increases my mpg and my engine runs quieter. It also helps keep the exhaust smoke to less than 1/3rd of the permitted maximum - which is good for a 23 year old diesel. |

It’s a long time since I’ve used Millers with each tank. I use an annual treatment of Archoil 6400-d which is a high strength cleaner based on how well that performs I would use Archoil 6900-d with each tank like you have being doing. |

Thanks Craig,
Just ordered some more Archoil 6900-d, I am hoping that it will help prevent the fuel pump seal issue |

It should do as it is a lubricant - I also add two-stroke oil to mine every time I put fuel in. |

Archoil 6900D is 1ml per litre of fuel - so round here it is 25ml per £30 worth of fuel.
As for two stroke oil - I buy it in 1L bottles and just slop in "one finger's worth" - about 50ml I would think.
Does it work??
Archoil works for me - more mpg and a clean(ish) exhaust.
Two stroke oil - all I can say is that my truck is still on it's original fuel pump seal. |

So you add both oil and additive each time you fill up. Do you do a full tank or like you said £30 worth. Since i have had the truck i don't think i have filled it to the top yet, i know some additivies you add need to go into a full tank! |

I have never filled my tank to the top - just £30 when I need some.
The amount of additives are added per litre of fuel so it doesn't matter how much fuel there is in the tank.
The ones that need to be added to a full tank are probably one-off treatments - and the size of the tank varies from vehicle to vehicle anyway.
I have always added two stroke to my diesel so when I started using the Archoil about a year ago I couldn't see any reason to stop using the two stroke oil as well. |

Looks like i may start to add some 2 stroke oil from on then. What size Archoil 6900D do you buy as it varies in price? |
