I'm looking for a permanent live in the fusebox that I can piggyback onto for a RCL. Any information greatly appreciated. Search results not been great. I don't like splicing wires. However I am happy to run an auxiliary feed directly from the battery if I know where to get through the firewall easily without fuss.
Thanks in advance. |

The main loom from the engine bay goes through the bulkhead corner above the passenger side footwell. It's fairly easy to make space for another wire there.

I pushed a length of micro pipe from a watering system through the grommet. It's stiff enough to be pushed, but flexible enough to deflect the other side as necessary. Once through, you can place your wire inside the pipe, add a bit of tape for security, and then pull the wire through using the pipe. |

Anyone ever get that grommet to fit back in place? My 2.8 was still factory and it took some effort to move it, the wires went through easy enough and its sort of back in place but couldn't get the angle or purchase to fit it back properly. |

Can't help sorry. I found a live fuse under the dash that I piggybacked onto, much easier. As for the grommets, have you heated them up first? I found this helpful on my MK1 golf when replacing them. |
