Right guys I need a little help....a family friend has a shogun sport 05 with 102k on it...the vehicle broke down couple of months back and he has it sorned...I have the opportunity to buy it at 100£...not the cleanest but worth that all day long....I just charged the battery this morning as it was flat..turned the key and heated her twice..she started allbeit lazy and ticked over nicely....she was jumpy when you gave her revs....hesitant...I'm no mechanic but reckon it's worth a shot even if it needs a pump????? Any pointers what to look for next????

From what you've written, first thing to eliminate as a problem is air in the fuel.  Rig up a temporary supply using a clean container and new hose going straight into the pump.  If it runs from that without hesitation, work through the fuel system until the find  the cause of air ingress.  It can be useful fitting a cheap in-line fuel filter that's transparent as you can see the air bubbling through.

Common problems are fuel clips that aren't tight; perished hose; filter canister and water drain not tight; the 'extra' seal on the filter not being removed; corroded fuel lines; and corroded fuel pickup.

You should probably buy it anyway it as it's worth much more than £100 for spares if you can't get it running.
