|
|
OK - so my truck definitely knows it will be sold soon!
The electric aerial has stopped extending and retracting
The motor is still working but the teeth on the mast must be worn as it is clunking and trying to move the mast.
Anyone know how to change the mast??
Thanks in advance. |

Easy, unscrew the top where the mast comes up, there are 4 groves in the chrome to get a set of long nose pliers on. Remove then turn the radio and and it simply winds all the way out. Getting the new one in is the opposite but you need to work quick otherwise it stops winding so can take a couple of goes. |

Take note of what way the ‘teeth’ face as you pull the old one out, it’ll make getting the new one in easier. Also you sort of need to try and straightene the end of the new cord a bit to get it down the hole so to speak.
It sounds easy but of course it make be stuck, you can’t actually remove the whole assembly very easily as the aerial cable that goes to the stereo is attached and can’t sinply be unplugged. |

Hi
I am in the same process but my aerial snapped so there is a bit of the section down the hole. It is a part of the outermost casing and the plastic bit at the end. After a lot of pulling, wd40 and cursing I have given up so the only solution is to take the inner wing off for me.
However getting the old one out (the broken of section) and having the motor grip the new one was easy and it was not until the motor had pulled all the belt in that I figured out that there was a part of the old aerial left in the hole.
Best of luck.
