I have just been told that my offside stop lamp is inoperative.
Just had a look and it is not a normal 4/24w stop tail bayonet bulb.
Looking at Milner's they have a push fit bulb but it does not look like a dual filament. Is this correct?? |

That's a though.
I've just replaced mine with a bulb I found and I've been told the break lights are still not working.
I bet I need something different than what I put in! |

These are the ones we need …. 580 / 380W Stop Tail Light Bulbs Large Capless Car Auto Van Wedge 12v 21/5w .
I think that the ones Milner's are advertising are the right ones. They are dual filament, just don't look like dual filament in the picture.
They just push in, not like the usual 2 pin bayonet fitting.

I've found some from Halfords that are dual filament.
Just wondering which way round they go and if I've blown a fuse if it makes a difference. |

Now you are asking!!!!
Until I get my replacement bulbs in the post I cannot answer.
I suspect that they should be universal, i.e. either way should work, being a push fit.
Fuses .... should be OK as I think both sides stop/tail are on the same fuse link, so if one side is working the fuse is OK. |

It doesn't matter which way round the bulbs go in just a simple push in and that's it, I did a list on here for all the bulbs on a 3.2 did i'll find the link |

All sorted for me now.
I also had to do the running light as well.
Is it me or do these bulbs seem to go quite frequently? |

Mine have lasted 12 years so I think you could say that they are fairly robust in that area.
When you say "running light" what do you mean exactly? |

BTW the new bulb fitted and all OK at the rear.
Only problem is that the screws holding the rear l;ight cluster into the bumper are corroded.
No chance of unscrewing them.
Went in under the bumper and removed the lamp holder to replace the lamp/ |

Quite common for these screws to seize , I had to do the same (through the bumper) which is easy enough I suppose.
By the 'running lights' I guess he means the lights on the running boards (the sidesteps) which some versions have, unless some later models have daylight running lights perhaps? |

The one in the bumper.
I think they are making the bulbs deliberately weak.
I'll replace with LED next time I have one go. |

if you do a straight swap from normal to leds you might have to get load resistors to make them work. I tried to put leds in the stop/side bulb on the (modded) raised rear cluster but they didn't work so went back to normal bulbs! |
