Is the top timing chain guide a problem on the mk4? Mines a 2007, emailed mitsi about recalls but heard nothing back yet. It has 65k,should i change it now? Cheers

Late reply but yes it is, mine as recently gone completely, Iv just replaces the timing chain because of this.
The other guides were worn aswell, 1 other being completely *beep* and had been eating away at the metal

Hi sorry for late reply, I don’t come on here much,. Yeah I changed the whole chain and all guides I was thinking I proberbly could have gotten away with just changing the top guide and running the chain but when I got the timing cover off another guide was completely gone along with part of the metal and another guide cracked so I was glad that I did the lot
