Hi,

I learned that the 2.8's 4-speed box should give that feeling of "Shifting into 5th Gear", but in reality it's just the Lock Up clutch engaging.

Ours however, it has always felt like it only shifts 4 times, and when it does shift to fourth gear, it does feel a tad heavier than the rest of the gear shifts. Umm, there's nothing wrong with it, I think, as it can reach 180Km/h which means everything is working okay? I believe the Lock Up clutch engages along with the box shifting to 4th.

Has anybody encountered this? I mean it does strain some parts for a short time though.

(By the way, the trans. ECU had been replaced a few years ago because it wouldn't shift to OverDrive)
