well been thinking of blanking off for a while,i blanked my 2.8 off years ago, anyone else done it,and what are the benefits, all works well at the moment with no smoke/but would it be beneficial to do it now before inlet manifold or egr get clogged up. |

I did mine within first week of ownership. Didnt really notice a difference, but long term hopefully wont clog up the inlet. |

Their isn't much to gain by disabling or blanking off a properly working EGR system or valve BUT if its clogged and not closing correctly OR the electronics are faulty opening it when they shouldn't then its a good and easy fix |

Just noticed this is a 3.2, it may not be as straight forward as first thought...... |

I thought that blanking / removing the egr valve was an MOT failure since the rules changed last year. |

Think i will leave well alone, egr looks surprisingly clean,no smoke at all and pulls well under all conditions, much more refined and powerful than my 2.8,although doesn't have the same character about it.will consider blanking if i get any problems down the road. |

Depends on how its done and/or how friendly (or knowledgeable about these vehicles) your MOT tester is |
