i am thinking if it,s a 2.8 it could be the pump seal as it,s rare on a 2.5 but full model details would be helpful..does it start run then cut out a few times before it gets going or are you cutting out a short distance after you have started.... Question

Hi , thanks for the quick responce , its a 2.5 and if its been stood it takes a few cranks to get it running and it ticks over fine but then once the revs have gone past 2.5 thow and you let it drop to tick over it then grumbles and stalls

Thank you to all that helped , it tured out to be a 20p rubber gasket that was letting air into the fuel system which in turn had caused an airlock it , i had to bleed the air from the system then let it sit for 30 - 40 mins then bleed it again this had to be done 6 times before all the air was out and the pajero went back to its normal reliable starting
