Hi

I have a 2005 lwb shogun 3.2 did.  I have a unusual noise like a drone that I can not figure out what it is.  My brakes are not sticking, my tyres are ok, they may have very slight uneven wear but nothing excessive. I have zero play in my wheels. It actually sounds a little worse turning right. The drone noise is most apparent above 37mph and eventually dies away above 60-65mph. When I come to a stop I at around 5mph and under I can feel a ever so slight crumble through the floor like you have bad scored discs. Today I decided to jack the rear up (found a broke spring, doing that later) and put the car into drive. When I revved the car slightly in drive I had a horrible noise coming from the transfer box area. Like something is trying to engage. Could this be the droning noise I am hearing when I am driving? But when idling in drive with the wheels spinning I have no noise.

Any help would be appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻

Hello.

Welcome to the club

My thoughts are, maybe it could be wear/damage to the Prop shaft?

+1 on the prop shaft, I had a similar sound when I damaged mine after I almost had an accident and ended up driving down a flight of stairs. The chassis didn't appreciate it, and you couldn't NOT hear it! And like in your story, it was louder when turning.
