I'm thinking of fitting a snorkel has anyone got any experience of fitting one on a MK4 or any recommendations? The Safari ones seem really expensive are they worth the extra cost? The Bravo ones luck decent too and are half the price.

Also, can anyone confirm if the MK4 has factory breathers/vents on the gearbox and transfer box as well as the front and rear diffs?

Cheers.

We put a Safari snorkel on ours - a bit complicated but worked OK. The shop had done another Mk 4 previously so knew how to do it. We installed a transmission breather as well.

Thanks for that. How many breathers did you install, just the diffs or gearbox & transfer box too?

Good question...

We had the snorkel and the breather(s) installed by a specialist workshop here. They know what they're doing and would have installed whatever was needed for wading in water up to 1m deep (which we've done a lot since). I have to admit that I have no idea - next time I'm there I'll ask... Apologies for not being able to give you a better answer.
