Good afternoon folks.
My '90 Pajero 2.5td has had long standing issue with starting and running.
I'm now in the process of giving the whole fueling system the once over.
I'd like to remove the IP and send it off for testing and if necessary servicing/rebuilding.
Has anybody on here removed their own IP and if so, I'd be grateful for any guidance/instruction on the matter.
I'm nervous, due to the whole mechanical timing thing and the IP being part of this, does everything need locking up during removal and remaining so until refit?...Or is it just a case of ensuring all timing marks align after refit and prior to attempting to start the truck?
Is the IP easy to remove and what bolts etc. need removing to do so?
Many thanks in advance of any advice given.

Also, my IP has the number 104740-8090, am I right in thinking the first bit is the part number and signifies a pump for an auto? What does the 8090 represent?

Bump - I also have a 4D56T with a leak and I am looking for the same information. I would also be quite grateful if anyone could share their experience.
