So, now to explain further the mounts. If you take the original roof rails off, the mounting points are fitted with threaded nuts, into which are threaded the bolts which secure the rails. If you fabricate mounts which take bolts with the same thread, you can secure your new rack into the same mounting points. I should have taken photos of these points after removing the original rails and before installing the roof rack...
Here's a diagramme for an Outlander - same idea, however obviously not the same set up as the Montero/Pajero/Shogun.

i also like the outcome, only to fabricate wind deflector, and planning to put 270 degree awning on the side
also inside the basket perfectly fit the tent and mattress 120x200cm, so some on the bugdet foot tent |
