Nothing serious I suppose, it didnt have the fast throttle knob below the dash - I fitted the one from the Pajero ( a kind of manual Cruise Control )
I at first felt a bit exposed that it had only one battery - strange how you get used to two
It didnt have adjusting shock absorbers
No aerial half-mast switch
No "hold" switch
I feel there were other things but cannot remember... They were that important probably Winter Pack stuff?

You were short-changed!
Mine's got most of the stuff yours didn't:
Manual throttle lever
Dual batteries
Roof mounted aerial (so no need for half-mast switch)
Gearbox 'hold' switch
Winter pack
It's a great vehicle and suits my needs perfectly. Funny really, because I would never have chosen one - in fact when my mate had it I always thought it was a Hilux Surf! |

I did feel short changed at first but not for long. It was a great car and apart from the LWB I initially went to view I believe it was the last 4x4 sold by respectd JC Imports of Bedale.

Sadly the company was dissolved in 2010. John felt the importing of 4x4's had had its day by 2008 when I was buying the Challenger from him and believe he intended to continue to import smaller cars but seemed to have other plans on the go too. I hope he did well as he was a nice bloke

Guys, thanks for all the photos and info you gave me. joemaxi - I've seen the video before, but wasn't sure does it apply to all Pajeros. Still, thank you for your input As jonny ramrod suggested, my plan is to put a matterace on top of the seats to make it more comfortable. Perfect for long trips to Skye |

I can speak from experience... Its not easy nor very comfortable in a SWB but it can be done. We did it one late October near Braemar when temperatures went well below 0C and the tent didnt seem like a great idea with snow forecast. The seats dont fold completely flat and my feet had to go below the steering wheel too. Oh and we had to accommodate our wee dog as well, she quite happily snuggled up between our feet. Our gear was perched on walking poles which were jammed between the door pillar and the dash. So not recommended but better than a tent in those conditions... Needs must
Campervan is MUCH more comfortable and we will be on Mull in April too - my favourite Isle.

Hi everybody!
I tried to look for this information everywhere but still didn't find the answer. I want to buy Shogun/Pajero/Challenger and I am wondering is it possible in any of them to fold seats down/forward in a way that will allow you to sleep in the boot? What is the distance between back of the front seats and the end of the car? As far as i know it is possible to lay seats completely flat in Challenger, right?
Cheers! |
Hi, I am from Australia. I have a challenger and yes I have protected back seats with bamboo protector and they go flat so I can have nap. |
