|
|
Right so last weekend I fitted a new driveshaft and adjusted the fuel screw on my 2.8
Now I have issues and I don't know why. I have a shake above 20mph and issues where it won't start. Wont turn over almost as if it's locked up. But if you leave it a while it will try to turn over then stop turning over again.
Any ideas? |

The shake above 20mph, if it wasn't there before it will almost certainly be due to something that was done fitting the new driveshaft..
The none start issue, no idea! turning the fuel screw shouldn't cause any kind of engine cranking speed issues, sounds if anything like a flat battery/s?? |

Batteries are both new and good. No issues before this except the starter motor did stick once when it was particularly cold. But hasn't since. It cranked a bit and then stopped, now no effort to crank at all. Like a totally dead starter. So that could be a possibility to look at I guess.
The shake as you say has to be related to the drive shaft. I only undid the top ball joint, track rod end and the 4 bolts at the end of the drive shaft as well as the drive flange to get it out though and they are all back and tight. One odd thing I noticed. With it in 2wd and he front wheels in the air I can turn the nearside wheel freely, but the offside with only rotates a bit either way and then stops. At first I thought it was the drive shaft bolts hitting the axel tube but they aren't.
Any advice is massively appreciated. |

Hit the solenoid on the starter a few times and no change. Hit the starter itself and it trued to turn over then jammed up again. Starter must just have decided to give up.
Still haven't got to the bottom of the shake. |
