Hello everyone

Currently i am in the middle east and looking to bring my Pajero back with me to the UK. However, I am having difficulty with trying to insure the car (when it lands in the UK) as the major insurers do not recognise a 3.8 Gold Edition Pajero (Left Hand Drive) or the fact that its production year is 2017. Even though Shoguns are the equivalent / parallel models of Pajeros in the UK it seems but even then it is starting to become quite a task to get an insurance quote. After calling around, I found out that popular insurers don't recognise Pajeros after 2002 model or in some cases even before that (1995-1999). I find this quite strange because in my opinion, all latest models of Pajero should also be included in their list of insurable vehicles whether imported or otherwise.

I have also spoken to a car dealer in the UK who said that once my Pajero is DVLA registered (and has a UK number plate), there should not be any problems in getting the car insured but he himself has not had the experience or the confirmation to whether this would actually happen. I am concerned because I don't want to pay for shipping, tax, DVLA etc just to find out in the end that my car cannot be insured!

Has anyone else had a similar experience and any advice that you can give to be able to get a quote to insure the car please?

Thanks
Fahad
