Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone can advise me.  My shogun 2003 3.2L has a problem with the accelerator pedal.  If I press it hard accelerating up hill for example it cuts out and the engine management light comes on.  I can keep on going if I lighten the pressure on the pedal and the problem isn't dangerous however it isn't possible to tow a trailer uphill with this problem.  Does anyone know if I need to replace the pedal and sensors or if there's another problem. Is replacing the pedal a big job?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Smile

I don't know if this helps ( i have a swb 3.2 did), but going up hill (and especially when towing a trailer tent) there was no power and the eml always came on, it never cut out just very slow. The cause i found was the air inlet manifold at the back of the engine where it connects to the engine was missing 2 bolts and the others were ratterling aroung in their holes. So after 2 new bolts and all tightened up I solved the problem no more eml and no loss of power in fact in now flies up hills! So might be an idea to check the air inlet system for leaks or loose bolts.

Thank you, very much for your reply.  I'll have a look at that.  We're putting it up on a friend's ramp today so hopefully we'll get a good look.  I forgot to mention that the pedal gets sticky and I have to lift it up with my foot when I stop in order to return to idle rev speed.
