Hi, Ive got a 2007 L200 pick up and the speedo, odometer and trip counter has stopped working! It's an electronic system as opposed to the older speedo cable set up? I've changed the drive unit in the transmission and the VSS speed sensor that attaches to it. I have also visually checked the wires for breaks and they seem ok. With the connector off the VSS, and the ignition on, but engine not running, I have checked earth and 12v supply, both are OK. I don't get a sensor signal (4.8v?)? Am I checking this correctly or does the sensor signal only come out of the vss when its all connected and wheels turning? If so, how do I check it as I cant get to the terminals without removing the connector and breaking the circuit, if that makes sense?

Any suggestions as to what I should do / check next? Or what else might be causing the problem?

I assume that a non working speedo is an MOT fail?

thanks

Have you managed to find a solution to this problem? If not, I recommend that you seek help from a car mechanic.
