|

Hello,
Im new here and after some help with a shogun 3.2. It was brought by my dad with a know rough idle stalling issue, which to start with would idle ok but if you came to a stop like at a junction then go to take off again it would stall, so Ive searched the internet about the problem and came up with resetting the ecu parameters by disconnecting the battery, so I did this but seemed to make the problem worse as it would not idle at all unless you held your foot on the accelerator peddle. So dad decided to take it to local garage and they put there diagnostics reader on it which pin pointed the accelerator peddle sensor, which they changed but made no difference. So we got it back and I had another look to see if I could find problem, so far I found water in the fuel filter and the fuel filler neck has rotted, so I tried running it from small drum of diesel bypassing the fuel filter/tank but still same problem. So next step I thot the pump could be nackered from water/rust contamination, so I have stripped pump inspecting to find small particles in pump or signs of wear, but it all looks clean inside, I know the pump runs on very fine tolerances but there seems no sign of wear. So Im abit stumped where to look next, part me thinks it still could be a electrical issue as when I disconnected the battery to reset it made the stalling worse. Any one had a similar problem? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks, Rich |

It will be rust and water contamination in the fuel pump, with the rotted pipes it will let water, dirt, and rust directly into the tank and as this is drawn up it blocks the button filters in the fuel pump and with so much water in the fuel it will run like a pig so draining and cleaning the fuel tank will help. |
