A previous topic on the suitability of the icarsoft diagnostic tool did not raise much interest.

I bought an 'iCarsoft CR PRO - 2022 FULL System ALL Makes Diagnostic Tool' and  report that whilst the vehicle identification was limited to Pajero with a choice of engines (unlike Autel which does offer Shogun) it was helpful in being able to look at the ABS system and report that the F/N/S sensor was faulty.
The fault indicated 'no power'.
Examination of the said sensor revealed a shard of metal attached to the sensor which was removed with a slice of margarine carton.
The tool offered the option to clear codes but was unable to do this.
Driving the vehicle eventually extinguish the warning lights.

I have a Shogun and don't have any problems at the moment but looking to buy a good diagnostic tool for any future issues. I have considered the ICARSOFT CR MAX but after reading your post having a re-think. Which Autel model are you referring to?

The Autel I have is a few years old now and presents good menus for what it does, however the icarsoft covers a wider range of problems including the ABS system.
The information provided is a big help in diagnosis but will not compare to the manufactures product in detail.
There may be an Autel product that will match the icarsoft if you like touch screens and are prepared to spend a bit more, it would be best to correspond with Autel for a useful answer.
I was tempted to buy a MUT system available at one time as advertised  on eBay, however last time I looked it had got just too expensive.

I have the latest Autel and it does have full MUTT capability but needs to be online for the updates which I do at work.

Autel Maxi Diag Elite, as I remember I bought it about ten years ago, it has the capability of connecting with Pre OBD2 vehicles but does not cover ABS systems.
icarsoft CRPRO purchased within the last 12 months, a multi system/make  diagnostic tool. It cost a  little more the the Shogun specific item but has universal capability.

The Autel pre dates current model numbers, it may be similar to a 608?
The icarsoft has a greater range of options than my Autel  for a 2014 Shogun.
