|
|
Hello all,
I've got a 2008 3.2 DiD Shogun IV 5-door. Last year I took off the inlet manifold to clean it. This was bcause I kept getting the engine check light coming on. I took off the inlet manifold to clean it, and it was almost totally clogged up. It took a day to clean it all up.
Now it's playing up again.
I have read about the subject, and it seems that the EGR messes things up. Is there a way to blank the EGR pipe off without getting an engine fault code? I hear that they do that in Australia, and use some small extra wiring loom that tricks the EGR valve into thinking that it's working.
I can't find anything like that listed in the UK or Germany (where I spend a lot of time).
I've had the car for about 5 years, and it has been very reliable, apart from this problem. I'd like to keep it, but I don't fancy having to clean the inlet manifold every year.
Can anyone help, please?
Regards
Daniel |

Well I took the inlet manifold off, and cleaned everything, today. It seemed to run fine, and then after 10 minutes, it wouldn't accelerate again. This is intermittent, but is happening quite often.
Does anyone know what it could be? The car is a 2008 3.2 DiD Shogun IV.
Diesel filter? Diesel pump? Injectors?

Look up the mod where you solder a resistor onto a certain were from the mass air flow sensor. I did it years ago, the egr stays permanently closed. Had it all apart recently and still clean |

Thanks. I'll search for that.
I have been looking into the subject, and it could be a number things. Diesel filter blocked, diesel pump knackered, injectors knackered, and some other things. I've ordered a new diesel filter for a start. I'll begin with the cheaper possibilities.
