Update to oil specifications
Now the popular Millers Millermatic SP III WS is being phased out and many people are looking for its replacement and this is the new Millers XF Premium ATF MV-Extra and this is NOT to be confused with ATV MV.
This new replacement ATF is like many ATF's, backwards compatible, and is the one stop specification ATF for all Mitsubishi Shogun, Pajero and Montero models across the world.
It meets and exceeds the Dia Queen SK, Dia Queen SP IV (4), Dia Queen SP III, Dia Queen SP II, Dia Queen J3, Dia Queen J2 and ATF PA specifications.
This is defined as miscible which means it mixes with other types of Dia Queen specification ATF but I would recommend total replacement for best results and to do this I would recommend buying 15 litres of a 20 litre container as this is often cheaper then 3 X 5 litre containers and it lasts for 5 years once opened, but sealed.
To replace it you need to do a full ATF change by removing an oil cooler pipe and running the engine on tickover until it stops running OR for no longer than 1 minute and measure what you get out and replace it with exactly the same amount and run the vehicle for week and repeat. |

Thank you for that information. I read somewhere that the usual ATF was no longer available and was wondering what replacement we should use, now we know. It was a question I was going to ask on here, with the hope that you would answer. Beat me to it !
Thank you |

Most manufacturers are looking to multi vehicle applications for a single fluid as this means manufacturing fewer fluids for the same applications which saves money and protects profits which is obviously why they do it.
Put some in mine and I fiond it nicer and smoother than the old SP III but as for life, only time will tell.
It is miscible which means it will mix with the original SP, SP III, SP III WS and SP IIII so it can be safely used for topping up existing fluids as it meets the current SP 4+ and is expected to meet the new SP 5 specifications when they are announced.
It can also be used in the power steering system so one fluid for the transmission and steering so no buying Dexron for your steering. |
