|
|
Hi all
I've just tried to start my 2016 Shogun, 3.2 Auto, but I can't turn the ignition key even to the first position. Tried both keys, same. It's in park. After wiggling the steering around the steering lock is now on, but it wasn't begin with. Last drove it last night, battery is charged, central locking and auto mirrors work. It's very cold here today, well below zero - can't think of anything else unusual.
Any ideas?! |

Did you try a couple of things:
1. lubricate the lock with a small amount of WD40 or silicon grease
2. warm it up with a hair dryer

Just realised I never provided an update - I did get it started eventually, turned out 'thrusting' the key in and our vigorously a few times did the trick, rather than attempting to turn the key hard.
Next step would have been the hairdryer as suggested by iam_TJ. It was -12 that day (I found out once ignition was on) and I haven't had any problems since. Trying to avoid spraying anything in the keyhole but may resort to that if it happens frequently |

Don’t spray anything into the keyhole, always use a pencil waste problem, like a wax thing. |
