|
|
Hello,
I'm going to start again with this one and this is were I am with it. Vehicle is 67 reg LWB
Car stationary on the drive engine running/engine not running driver side tail light is working Ok.
Drive 200yrds lights ON fuse blows.
Drive 200yrds (or half hour) lights OFF park up, turn the lights on all is Ok.
Go for another short drive lights ON and the lamp removed the fuse still blows.
I've also been for a drive with the factory tow bar module disconnect too and it still blows a fuse, this has all been done over the last couple of days (could there be corrosion in the fitting of the white plug behind the bumper?)
Now I know its on the switched side of things, is there any kind of relay/module I can change which could be at fault, before I take it to an auto electrician. I do have the owners workshop on my laptop so I'm going to have another look at the wiring diagram.
Many thanks Mick. |

The towbar and electrics are accessories and not factory fit.
Assuming you have the genuine Mitsubishi electrics kit, disconnecting the two plugs from the module will not isolate the trailer wiring.
Work your way down the loom from the module, you will come across a white plug and socket in a daisy chain then further down a single white plug that connects into the vehicle loom. Disconnect this plug and see if the fault clears.
If now working, examine the loom between the module, under the trim and on to the towbar socket, there are several places where a badly fitted loom can get damaged. Also open up the towbar socket and check the connections inside.
I don't remember a white plug behind the bumper, it may be only on the lwb and most of the ones I have fitted were swb. |

It's off to the garage, I can't find it spent too much time on it. |
