Hi all, I’m hoping someone has had and resolved this issue or knows what’s up I figured I’d do as much as possible first to eliminate some answers. I’ve read similar posts to my problem but to no avail.
So in short it starts up fine but takes 8 cranks everytime but always starts.
Then after around three miles when the engine warms up I get this issue where I if I slow for a junction it drops revs to like 550rpm and stalls itself. If I keep my foot on accelerator it drives fine.
At stand still it ticks over fine in P and N but ifI rev it gently say 1500rpm then let go it drops to 550 RPM ish chugs twice and rescues itself.
Leave to get cold and again 8 cranks to start and runs lovely.
If it stalls and I restart it takes longer and needs foot on the accelerator.

List done so far!
2006 shogun 3.2DID LWB
-New diesel injector pump a year ago.
-New hand primer & fuel filter and pump unit.
-Fuel pick up sender unit tested all good.
-Checked for air leaks in fuel lines all ok.
-Air intakes etc all checked and ok.
-Head ok pressure tested.
-Relearned the tickover.
-Cleaned gearbox contacts.
-No OBD codes thrown up.
-Takes 8 cranks to start everytime should be 2 but runs fine and in D & R
-Runs fine in P and N put in D or R and it drops revs too low and stalls when warm, when approaching a junction or come to a standstill it cuts out.
but keep foot on accelerator it keeps running
Doesn’t like uphill not sure if fuel issue or extra strain on drivetrain so requiring more revs and stalls.
Once a stall happens it doesn’t want to start easy but have foot on accelerator it will start then settle again on tickover…
-Revs do not fluctuate like it would with diesel injector pump issue like last time.
-no smoke
-gently rev today 1500k with it in P or N and take foot off accelerator it drops to around 550 revs dips under for a second give a chug chug as if it will stall but saves itself and keep running.
