the recommended place for a mag mount is the middle of the roof i went for a thunderpole mini orbiter that clamps to the roof gutter via a stainless steel gutter mount kit theres less chance of it coming off if offroading when going through trees ect

hi john,

your best bet is to mount the magnet in the centre of the vehicle. it will help the s.w.r to set correctly. although i would reccomend using a gutter mount or something that is actually fixed using bolts. a gutter mount would clamp onto the roof rack or anything metal. they are also better becuase the antenna wont come off when you go off-roading.
make sure you s.w.r the cb before you use it otherwise you wont be able to talk over a very long distance and wonder why no-one can hear you.
any probs give us a shout

naggers
