i have an imported pajero on a J plate and have just taken the car in for a re gas on the air conditioning. i have been told that it is an old system and they cannot do it without doing a conversion at a cost of a couple of hundred quid......i am heavily pregnant and this weather is killing me!!! are they telling me the truth or trying to make money out of me? is there any other way round this if it is correct?

there is other way round this all they have to do is re-gas it with RS24 that is a direct replacment for the old R12 and you do not have to convert anything
should cost between £50 to £100 depending on the system (single or double) and where you are in the country

Thanks for the info.....this is what i thought upon looking through the forum, however the garage still said i would need to replace the charge points, seals etc at a cost of approx 200 quid. i am assuming they didn't want to work on it with it being an import so i walked away. does anyone know of anyone in the Bristol/Gloucestershire area who can do my re gas for me and not rip me off please
