My air con pump packed up, so I phoned Nippon Spares to source a replacement. The guy didn't want a chassis number, because he said the 2.5's were different but the one for the 2.8 were all the same.
Put it into the local garage today, and surprise, surprise it dont fit.
The two supply pipes enter vertically on the side of the pump casing.
The 'new' one is supplied from the top area of the casing, horizontally.
The electrics are different as well.
My mechanic said the supply pipes to the pump were made of aluminium and could not be 'bent to fit' as they would just fracture.

Any ideas before I phone this clown at Nippon??

Cheeers,

John

He's right - you can't bend the pipes - so you gotta getta the right compressor!

Just a thought - you can't fit the old bit where the pipes fit onto the new compressor can you?

Had that done on mine.Don't know where the 'new' compressor came from(it was cheap, and it works!)but where each of the pipes go in,the adapter is held on with two allen bolts and has a couple of seals underneath.HTH.
