Seriously considering buying a Delica.
I want a campervan, something to tow a 18ft. boat and to learn to drive a 4x4 offroad. Oh yes! - Commute to work as well! What other vehicle can do all this!!!
I've looked a ads on the web and want confirmation about what models are available. (I know they come with various levels of equipment and differant roof styles) Are there just to two basic types?-
1. The "old shape" on the short wheel base chassis with the 2.5l engine.
2. The "new shape" (Space Gear?) on the long wheel base chassis with the 2.8l engine.
Questions:
When did they stop making the "old shape"?
When did they start making the "new shape:?
Did the "old shape" ever come with the 2.8l engine?
Are any of them fitted with the rear differential lock like the Pajeros?
Were the any major changes during the production life? - I've heard of Mk2 Pajeros.
How do they fare seriously offroad - Greenlaning or even RTV trials? The approach angle does not look to good and the coolers for air con etc. look very vulnerable.
All and any information gratefully recieved.
